Attended by 1.000 spectators in the Sareza hall in Ostrava (Czech Republic) the answer was given after 60 thrilling minutes of pure handball. The gold medalist of the 18th Women’s Junior World Championship is Sweden who beat France with 29:22.

The team of Hungary won the bronze medal at the 18th Women´s Junior World Championship in the Czech Republic. In the so-called little final, they defeated Serbia with 26:24 after extra-time and celebrated their third place.

The Women´s Junior World Championship has it´s first finalist: After 60 really exciting minutes of Handball France won the first semifinal of this tournament against Hungary with 28:21 and is now heading for the final on Saturday 14 July against the winner of the second semifinal between Serbia and Sweden while Hungary will play the bronze medal-match against the looser.

After completion of the preliminary round, the eighth-finals and quarter-finals, the semi-finals of the Women’s Junior World Championship will be played tomorrow in Czech Republic. France, Hungary, Serbia and Sweden are those four sides which have qualified for the semi-finals of the title contests for young hopefuls following the quarter-finals, which had certainly lived up to its promises of excitement and class.
