Dear Handball Friends, The State of Qatar will host the World Championship for Club Teams – IHF Super Globe – for the second time. The international handball family is pleased to look back on the first tournament back in 2002, in particular the perfect organisation and Qatar’s typical hospitality, a hearty and warm welcome all participants were given. In 2002, the host team of Al-Sadd grabbed the cup and we are remembering the host team’s excellent performance that contributed to the good atmosphere of the audience. Therefore we were happy to accept their offer to host the 2010 IHF Super Globe and future editions in the coming years. We are assured the IHF Super Globe, featuring the continents‘ top teams, will make Qatar its home, and we strongly believe that the host country is able to assure a perfect organisation and matches full of atmosphere in the spirit of fair play. I hope these title contests could give a strong impulse to club handball in Qatar which could be to the benefit of the national team and the young hopefuls too.
