Beach
Handball is moving forward in the Caribbean region! Between 8 and 14 June, Port
of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago hosted Phase II of the IHF
Beach Handball Trophy Project. Under the guidance of IHF Beach Handball expert
and working group member, Mr Fernando Posada (ESP), 19 men’s players and 27
women’s players took part in the week-long training camp.
Besides
the on-court sessions where he worked on offensive and defensive tactics as
well as individual beach handball skills, Mr Posada held several theoretical
sessions in which he tried to improve the tactical knowledge of the players in
order to prepare them as well as possible for the upcoming challenges of Phase
III of the IHF Beach Handball Trophy Project.
With
this course, after Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago become the second federation to
successfully complete the 2nd Phase of the project. The third phase, which is
the competition part of the project, will be organised by the IHF in early
2017.
