Cristian Ugalde belongs to the four youngsters (born in 1987 and 1988) of the Spanish national team. The left wing player is supposed to succeed Juan García, whom he knows very well from his club Barcelona. Given this competitive situation in the club as well as in the national team, García and Ugalde apparently incite each other to become better, as both of them are part of the national team despite keen competition from other left wing players. Ugalde has one older brother called Antonio who also played for the national team.
