Unlike his younger brother Bertrand, Guillaume Gille is a back court player.
He made his debut for the French national team already in 1996 and therefore has more matches to his name than Bertrand who, in return, transferred from Chambery to HSV Hamburg two months earlier than Guillaume.
Apart from that, the two Gilles brothers, who belong to the “golden generation” of French handball, stick to their motto which is “We always appear as a pair”. They both played for Chambery and transferred to Hamburg. There’s one more thing they have in common: They are both married and both have three children.
