Alilovic substituted the injured goalkeeper Vlado Sola at the WCh 2007 and has since been considered the No. 1 goalkeeper of the Croatian team. Alilovic, two meters tall, was born in Bosnia-Herzegovina and received Croatian citizenship. After he played in his home town Ljubuski and for the Spanish club Ademar Leon until the end of last season, he transferred to his current club RK Celje from Slovenia. Alilovic might be the only player of the Croatian team to have never played for a Croatian club.
