Interview with the Serbian ambassador for Sweden 2011 Dragan Skrbic
Do you believe that the World Championship in Sweden will be a real highlight for international handball?
Dragan Skrbic: The World Championship is the biggest handball event in the world. The best teams of the world play to win, and many international stars will be on the court. For handball the World Championship is a new opportunity to gain more spectators. I’m sure that it will be a real highlight, because in Sweden all the arenas will be full.
What do you expect from Sweden in terms of sports and organization?
Dragan Skrbic: Sweden has a long and big handball tradition and I trust Sweden a hundred per cent about their capacity of organization. I played a lot of matches in Sweden and the atmosphere was always great.
What are your expectations concerning the performance of your team in Sweden?
Dragan Skrbic: We have a team with a lot of quality, and we can be the big surprise of the championship.
Which teams do you rate main contenders for the World Championship title?
Dragan Skrbic: By taking a look upon the last years, the favourite is France, but for me this championship is very open, because there are a lot of strong teams which have the chance to become champion.
Which players might become the big stars in Sweden?
Dragan Skrbic: Thierry Omeyer, Arpad Sterbik, Nikola Karabatic, Momir Ilic, Holger Glandorf.
