The IHF Super Globe, the World Championship for club teams will take place in Qatar from 17 to 21 May. The draw of the preliminary groups took place in Doha on Saturday 6 March 2010. Ciudad Real (Spain), European Champions League winner and last Super Globe winner, will play in group A against the Pan-American representative Unopar Fel / Sercomtel (Brazil), and the Zamalek Club (EGY), that will qualify for the tournament in April in Burkina Faso. The host, Al Sadd Club from Qatar will play in group B against Al Sad from Lebanon and the AHF Southern Stars from Australia, the representative of Oceania. The Super Globe, which was played three times previously - in 1997 in Austria, in 2002 in Qatar and 2007 in Egypt - will be held in Qatar from 2010 to 2013 . Recently IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa and Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Vice-President of the Al Sadd Club, signed the contract. Al Sadd won the Super Globe in 2002, when the tournament was first held in Qatar and won already five times the Asian Champions League title. The new Super Globe logo was presented during the draw in Doha.
