After two competition days at the IHF Trophy
North America and the Caribbean - Zone II tournament, hosts Mexico (MEX) top
the table, followed by Guadeloupe (GLP) and Puerto Rico (PUR) in both the youth
and junior categories.
Day 2 started off with an 11-goal victory of
Mexico against Guadeloupe in the youth tournament, a match which was followed
by very special guests – Andrés Manuel López Obrador, newly-elected President
of Mexico, Dr Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee,
and Carlos Padilla, President of the Mexican Olympic Committee. The second
match in this category was a nail-biter until the end, as Guadeloupe drew
against Puerto Rico 27:27.
In the junior competition, Puerto Rico were not
able to keep up with Mexico in the second half and lost 23:36.
All matches are streamed live on the
website of the Mexican Olympic Committee.
