Today, the
draw for the Men’s South and Central American qualification to the 2019 IHF
Men’s Junior (U21) World Championship has been held at the IHF Head Office in
Basle, Switzerland.
According to
the draw
procedure, row 4 (Venezuela) was drawn first, followed by the teams in row
2 (Chile, Paraguay) and row 1 (Brazil, Argentina). Afterwards, the organiser
had the prerogative to assign themselves to a group of their choice, before the
second team in row 3 (Uruguay) was put into the remaining group. The President
of the Colombian Handball Federation, Victor Manuel Ramos Vergara, communicated
by phone that his federation decided to join Argentina and Paraguay in Group A.

The Men’s
South and Central American qualification will be held in Palmira, Colombia from
3 to 7 April 2019. For North America and the Caribbean, the Continental
Phase of the IHF Trophy served as qualification event. As winners of the tournament,
USA qualified to Spain 2019.
