Today, the Ukraine Handball Federation celebrates the 80th birthday of Igor Turchin (16 November 1936 - 7 November 1993), one of the most remarkable handball coaches of the 20th century.
Igor Turchin was one of the greats. As coach of Spartak Kyiv’s women’s team, he became 20 times USSR champion and 13-time European Cup winner. With the USSR women’s national team he was just as successful, claiming two World Championship titles, two Olympic gold medals and one Olympic bronze medal.
The film "To win it all" was produced to honour him and tells the story of the great coach Igor Turchin and his legendary team Spartak Kyiv, who can be found in the Guiness World Records for their number of victories and trophies.
