Tomorrow, 26 April 2018 the groups for the 2018 IHF Women’s Junior as well as Youth World Championships will be drawn at the IHF Head Office in Basle, Switzerland.

 

The draw for the 2018 IHF Women’s Junior (U20) World Championship in Hungary takes place at 13:00 CET and is conducted by the Chairman of the IHF Commission of Organising and Competition (COC), Per Bertelsen. Dr Szabolcs Bíró, Manager of the Hungarian Handball Federation (HHF), Viktor Molnár, Head of HHF Events Department, and Zsófia Hársfalvi, Junior Project Manager, will represent the Hungarian Handball Federation.

 

At first, the teams in pot 4 are drawn to groups A-D and according to the results of the draw the teams in pot 5 are assigned to the corresponding groups in row 5 and the teams in pot 6 are assigned to the corresponding groups in row 6. Afterwards the teams in pot 3 are drawn to groups A-D in row 3, and the teams in pot 2 are drawn to groups A-D in row 2. After hosts Hungary assigned themselves a group of their choice in row 1, the remaining teams in pot 1 are drawn to groups A-D in row 1.

Pot 1: RUS, FRA, DEN, HUN

Pot 2: GER, NED, NOR, KOR

Pot 3: MNE, ROU, ESP, SLO

Pot 4: BRA, CRO, ANG, CHN

Pot 5: CHI, POR, EGY, JPN

Pot 6: PAR, ISL, CIV, SWE

 

The draw for the Poland 2018 Women's Youth (U18) World Championship will be held at 14:00 CET and is also conducted by IHF COC Chairman Per Bertelsen. The Polish Handball Federation (PHF) is represented by PHF External Relations Director Damian Drobik and PHF Marketing Manager Monika Listkiewicz.

 

Again, the teams in pot 4 are drawn to groups A-D at first and according to the results of the draw the teams in pot 5 are assigned to the corresponding groups in row 5 and the teams in pot 6 are assigned to the corresponding groups in row 6.

 

Afterwards the teams in pot 2 are drawn to groups A-D in row 2, and the teams in pot 1 are drawn to groups A-D in row 1. Hosts Poland have the prerogative to assign themselves a group of their choice in row 3 and the remaining teams in pot 3 are drawn to groups A-D in row 3.
