While the 26th IHF Men’s World Championship continues in Germany and Denmark, the organisers of the 27th edition of the global event continues its preparations for January 2021.

As IHF.info reported back in October, Egypt 2021 were looking for fans and designers around the world to help create part of the championship identity with their logo design competition.

After the deadline of 15 October passed, the winning entry whose design ‘reflected the culture and identity of Egypt and incorporated elements of handball’ was revealed with the successful entrant - Ahmed Ali - winning 30,000 Egyptian Pounds (EGP).

“We'd like to say a very big thank you to everyone who participated and sent in their designs. It has been a great pleasure receiving your artworks, they were all stunning,” said a short statement on the Egypt 2021 Facebook page.

“We would like to show our gratitude to the Egyptian Handball Federation board members and Egypt 2021 team for all their efforts, guidance and facilitation…and a very special thank you to Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Youth and Sports Minister, and the Ministry of Sports for all their help and support with the project.”

Egypt 2021 have also soft-launched their official Facebook page and website.

The Egyptian Handball Federation were awarded the rights to host the tournament back in 2015 at the IHF Council meeting on the fringes of the 2015 Ordinary and Extraordinary Congress of the International Handball Federation.
