The draw of the 15th Asian Men's Championship was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Attended by Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdul Azeez (President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee), Ahmad Abu Al-Lail (Executive Director of the Asian Handball Federation AHF), Bader Al-Theyab (AHF Treasurer) and Jasem M Al-Theyab (AHF Assistant Executive Director) the draw results for the groups of the Preliminary Round are the following:

Group A: Korea, Japan, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait
Group B: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan

The 15th Asian Men's Handball Championship will be staged in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 26 January to 8 February 2012. Defending champion is Korea, 2010 Silver medallist was Bahrain, Japan took the Bronze medal. The three top ranked teams of the Asian Men's Championship will qualify for the 2013 IHF World Handball Championship in Spain.
