The series of Olympic Solidarity Courses organized by the International Handball Federation continued in Muscat, Oman, where 31 domestic coaches took part in a beginners' course. IHF Lecturer was Nabeel Taha Al Shehab, who was assisted by the local lecturer Mustafa Janki.

From 14 to 19 January the general implementation of modern handball coaching methods for beginners took centre stage in the course, which – as all Olympic Solidarity Courses – was composed of theoretical and practical subjects such as basic handball skills, training for attack, defence and goalkeepers, and long-term training plans. Every day (including five times 1.5 lecture hours each) was concluded by discussions and seminars in small groups.

Lecturer Nabeel Taha Al Shehab integrated up-to-date coaching materials like videos and PowerPoint presentations in the theoretical part, while the practice was held in the Soltan Qabose Sport Complex in Muscat.

The IHF Olympic Solidarity Course caused a strong public and media interest and was even covered by several TV stations. After the finalization and several meetings of the IHF Lecturer with high-ranking members of the Oman Olympic Committee and the Oman Handball Federation, an advanced technical course in approx. two years was recommended.
