The city of Taichung, in the centre of Chinese Taipei, will host the 2019 IHF Women’s Trophy Asia - Zone 1A (East and South East Asia) tournament from Sunday 26 to Thursday 30 May for both youth (Under 17, born in 2002 and younger) and junior (U19, born in 2000 and younger) players.
Nine teams from five nations will be represented with Hong Kong, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam fielding teams in both age groups and Macau, entering a junior side.
The youth competition will be played in a round-robin league format, with all teams playing each other once. The top two in each group will then play off for the gold medal and third and fourth place will play for bronze. In the junior competition, all teams will play each other once with the winner of the group taking gold.
All games will be played at the Feng Chia University Gymnasium in the north-west of the city, with referees Eunha Lee/Gaeul Lee (KOR), Hideki Furukawa/Tetsuro Murata (JPN), Jedsapaporn Jullawong/Jedsapapa Jullawong (THA) and Yen Han Lin/Tsao Shao Hua (TPE) whistling.

And for junior teams only, the intercontinental phase has been upgraded to a qualification event for the 2020 IHF Women’s Junior World Championship, set to take place in Romania. For more information, click
