Following
their busy
start to 2018 which
featured a variety of competitions, technical development, education and a
whole lot more, the I.R. Iran Handball Federation has been quite active over
the past few months.
Former
Montenegro men’s coach Zoran Kastratovic was announced as the new men’s
national team coach, while his side, as well as the women’s national team,
men’s U15, junior and youth teams, along with the beach handball side, are all holding
national team camps.
Nine
competitions featuring over 100 teams and 1,300 players took place across the
country in a variety of provinces and cities including West Azerbaijan,
Isfahan, North Khorasan, Zahedan City, Markazi, Tehran, Semnan and Yazd.
Several
educational courses also took place, with refereeing and coaching workshops and
courses held for men and women in Isfahan, Yasouj, Qazvin, Takestan, Shahroud,
Tabas, Yazd, Khorasan Razavi Bousher, Khozestan, Mazandaran, Dehdasht and
Tehran. Yasouj City also hosted the Shekoufeh-Ha talent identification
programme.
In
addition, lecturer Alireza Habibi ran the third Olympic
Solidarity course in Faisalabad, Pakistan
while
referee couple Alireza Mousavian and Majid Kolahdouzan whistled at the Emir Cup
in Qatar.
To
round off the recent few months of activities, this past week (24-30 June), the
city of Tabriz in East Azerbaijan held the Asian Handball Federation (AHF)
Continental Referees Course which featured couples from Qatar, Jordan, Oman and
Iran under the leadership of Member of AHF Playing Rules and Referees
Commission Mr Khalaf Al-Enezi.
Following
the course, the President of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and Olympic
Council of Asia (OCA) H. H. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
with the President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of
Iran (NOCIRI) Mr. Reza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of I.
R. Iran H. E. Mr. Masoud Soltanifar and the Vice-President of AHF and President
of Islamic Republic of Iran Handball Federation (IRIHF) Mr. Alireza Rahimi all
met in Tehran.
