After four match days of the Asian Women’s Olympic Qualification in Changzhou, China, have been played, everything is settled for the great “final”: As Korea and Japan have both won their fourth matches, the teams will compete in the direct duel in the last round for the ticket to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. On Wednesday Korea beat Kazakhstan 36:23 (21:12) and remained spotless with eight points like Japan after their 44:12 (24:2) victory over Turkmenistan. Korea only needs a draw in the final clash to qualify directly for the Olympics, as their goal difference (156:82) is clearly better than the Japanese’s (138:82). The loser of this match books its ticket for the Olympic Qualification Tournament played from 25 to 27 May 2012.
Host China now has four points and is ranked third after the 28:26 (14:12) victory against People’s Republic of Korea on Wednesday.
