After four competition days, the teams from Kazakhstan (KAZ) and Uzbekistan (UZB) established themselves as the dominant teams of both IHF Trophy Asia - Zone III tournaments, youth and junior.

 

In the youth competition, Kyrgyzstan (KGZ) stood no chance, losing all their matches more than clearly. However, even though they end the tournament with zero points, they could gain valuable experience on the international stage.

 

Tomorrow, the winner will be decided as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan play each other in what is expected to be a thrilling encounter, considering the hosts, who lost their first match against Uzbekistan only by one goal 27:28, are highly motivated to take the regional honours on home ground.

 

In the junior competition, Turkmenistan beat Tajikistan today in the third-place play-off 37:22, thus celebrating a bronze medal in Almaty. Tomorrow, it is again hosts Kazakhstan who will take to the court against Uzbekistan in the final.
