After 16 matches of the Preliminary Round had been played on the last nine days, the wheat has been separated from the chaff at the Asian Club League Championship, currently carried out in Beirut, Lebanon. Teams from four nations have qualified for the semi-finals that will be played on Tuesday. In Group A, team Mudhar from Saudi-Arabia won all three matches and ranks first ahead of IHF Super Globe participant Al-Sad from Lebanon. In Group B, the IHF Super Globe finalist Al-Sadd from Qatar prevailed with four victories in four matches. The second-ranked team is Zobahan Estafan from Iran. So the semis will be Al-Sad vs. Al-Sadd and Mudhar vs. Zobahan. In the placement matches on Wednesday, Naft Janoob from Iraq will play against Jazeera (UAE) for the places 7 and 8, whereas Foolad (Iran) and Alsadaka (Lebanon) compete for the places 5 and 6. The final and the bronze final will take place on Thursday.
