Since last weekend, the top clubs from Asia have been playing in Beirut, Lebanon, to determine their continental champions. Nine teams qualified for this championship and play in two Preliminary Round groups. Al-Sadd (Lebanon), Naft Al-Janoobi (Iraq), Foolad Esfahan (Iran) and Mudhar (Saudi-Arabia) meet in group A. In group B, the IHF Super Globe finalist Al-Sadd from Qatar is the favourite against Sadakar (Lebanon), Jazeera (United Arabic Emirates), Jaish (Iraq) and Zobahan Esfahan (Iran). On match day 1, Al-Sadd from Lebanon clearly beat Al-Janoobi 33:24 and Jazeera took the points against Jaish with a 27:26 victory.After a round robin system in the first stage, the two best ranked teams play the semi-finals on 5 October. The placement matches 5-8 will be carried out on 6 October, whereas the Bronze final and final of the 13th club championship tournament will take place on 7 October. The winner of this club championship is qualified for the IHF Super Globe 2011.
