China
is set to receive delivery of the popular Handball@School courses starting this
week and finishing in late June.
From
29 May until 29 June, IHF Expert and Chairperson of the Handball@School Working
Group, Dr Ilona Hapkova, will work with Chinese Handball Association (CHA)
representatives and local organisers in eight different delivery sites in the
east of the vast Asian nation: Kunshan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Dongguan,
Xuancheng, Luannan and Beijing.
All
those who attend will be able to access translated copies of the new
Handball@School materials, including booklets, tri-fold brochures and posters,
as well as the possibility of gaining an IHF Coaching D Licence.
Over
400 participants are expected to attend the delivery across the eight venues in
seven provinces with each venue receiving a three-day course, except for
Shanghai, which will receive four days-worth of coaching.
First
up will be Kunshan on Wednesday 29 May with Hapkova looking forward to the
month-long series of delivery.
“Everybody
is so excited to start this programme of delivery in China which is the
first-ever Handball@School course to be delivered there,” she said.
“We
all hope that everyone attending will learn a lot about how to introduce
handball to children. I am so happy to have the opportunity to be there to not
only share my knowledge, but to showcase the new Handball@School materials
which have been prepared over the past three years.”
