Preparations for the VII Beach Handball World Championships are well underway and all 12 participants in the men’s and women’s competition have been determined. Beach handball fans all over the world are looking forward to the next step towards the IHF beach handball flagship event – the draw for the World Championships in Hungary in July.

The modern event centre Millenaris Park on the top of the Buda hill in the host city of Budapest will be the setting for the draw event where the 12 participating teams will find out who will stand in their way to winning the World Championship Trophy.

The draw for the VII Beach Handball World Championships will take place on 12 May 2016 at 10:30 CET and will be streamed live on the website of the International Handball Federation www.ihf.info and the official VII Beach Handball World Championships website www.beachhandball2016.com.

The VII Beach Handball World Championships will take place in Budapest from 12 to 17 July 2016 in the wonderful setting of the Margareth Island in the River Danube. Brazil are reigning champions in both the men’s and women’s competition and in Hungary they will have to hold off the strong competition from the other teams in order to defend their titles. Hosts Hungary are expected to be their strongest competitors in the women’s tournament, while European Champions Croatia and Asian Champions Qatar will present the biggest danger in the men’s competition.
