After the Women Junior
PanAm Tournament and the European Qualification Tournaments, 12 further teams
were determined to participate in the Women’s Junior World Championship in Russia,
which will take place from 3 to 15 July 2016.
From 15 to 19 March
2016, six women’s junior teams competed in Foz do Iguazu, Brazil to claim the
title of Pan America champions and clinch their berth for the 2016 Women’s
Junior World Championship. Brazil, again, was the dominant team and defeated
their opponents with ease. Only runners-up Argentina could challenge them but
lost after a thrilling match by 25:27.

Therefore, according
to the IHF regulations, Brazil, Argentina and Chile are qualified for the 2016
Women’s Junior World Championship in Russia.
The European Qualifications
Tournaments for Russia 2016 took place from 18 to 20 March. The six groups of
four teams each in addition to one group of three played in CRO, CZE, ISL, SRB,
FRA, POL and MNE and the first-ranked of each group qualified for the Women’s
Junior World Championship in July.
According to the
ranking, the following teams qualified via qualification tournaments:
HUN, GER, CRO, MNE,
ESP, FRA, NED and AUT as substitute nation, replacing the representative of
Oceania
Besides the
above-mentioned, the following teams are directly qualified:
ROU: 1st of the 2014 Women’s Youth
World Championship in MKD
DEN: 1st of the 2015 Women’s 19
European Championship in ESP
RUS: Organisers and 2nd of the 2015
Women’s 19 European Championship in ESP
SWE: 3rd of the 2015 Women’s 19
European Championship in ESP
