The 2013 Beach Handball Tournament at the IWGA World Games will be staged in Cali, Colombia from 1 to 4 August. 16 teams (eight men’s and eight women’s teams) will compete in this event. The draw of the preliminary round groups took place on 8 May, 16:00 local time, at the IHF Head Office in Basel and was conducted in the presence of IHF 1st Vice-President Miguel Roca Mas, the Chief Executive Officer of the International World Games Association, Mr Joachim Gossow, and the Chairman of the IHF Beach Handball Working Group, Mr Giampiero Masi.
These are the groups for the preliminary round of the women’s tournament:
Group A: Norway, Uruguay, Australia, Chinese Taipei
Group B: Brazil, Hungary, Colombia, Tunisia
These are the groups for the preliminary round of the men’s tournament:
Group A: Brazil, Russia, Colombia, Australia
Group B: Ukraine, Croatia, Qatar, Venezuela
The two best-ranked teams of each group will qualify for the semi-final, with the remaining four teams playing placement matches.
