The final match day of the preliminaries established Denmark, host Slovakia, Spain and Angola as remaining qualifiers for the main round of the Women's Youth WCh tournament, underway in Bratislava SVK. Those sides will join Russia, Korea, Serbia and France, who had already secured a spot in the next phase the day before.

Group A - Three matches, three victories - Russia enter the main round with the maximum of points possible. In their match against the Netherlands, like in the match before, they needed some time to find into the match. On the other hand the Netherlands managed to keep up well until minute '20 with the score at 8:8. Then the Russian girls proved cold as ice to increase the scoring rate and to rush ahead with a 6-goal margin at half-time. The Netherlands side fought bravely but lacked efficiency in finishing. Some fine attacks pleased the audience but could not avoid their second defeat to relegate to the placement round. Denmark managed a well expected win over Puerto Rico to earn qualification for the next phase as well.

Host Slovakia was looking forward to the clash with Korea, yet, they had difficulties to stand the quick fast-breaks and lacked scoring efficiency to enable the Asian side to rush away to 5:0 on minute ‘4. Korea showed a smart and concentrated performance and did what they had to do. The home crowd cheered every single goal but it became clear that Korea did not gave away top position in Group B. Qatar conceded another clear defeat against Tunisia but continue to gain experience on international stage what should be the main target for them in this WCh tournament.

In Group C, Spain needed two points to earn a spot in the next phase and they did it. Yet, the Japanese side proved in good shape and were effective in defence to not fall desperately behind. Spain committed a number of mistakes and got confused by Japan's switching of positions. So the Nippon side managed to equalise on minute ‘51, yet, the Japanese girls seemed somewhat tired in the end and thus could not turn the page upside down. Serbia added another two points to their account in their match against Argentina although their qualification had already been done.

In Group D, the French girls cruised to another easy victory over Pan-American representatives Brazil to enter the main round unbeaten. French top scorer Claudine Mendy and goalkeeper Bonche, who showed another excellent performance with a 54% of saves, led their team to a comfortable lead in the early stage of the match already. The Brazilian girls had nothing to contest so that the "story was over" and nobody doubt France's predominance they underlined until the final whistle. A walkover win against Hong Kong (27:9) secured the spot in the main round for Angola.
