Regarding recent finals of the 2005 WCh (ESP-CRO) and the 2006 ECh (FRA-ESP) the die was cast at an early stage with a sort of thrill for the crowd only in the beginning. The Cologne WCh final, however, between Germany and Poland, was somewhat different, since Poland with 15 minutes to go before the end managed to catch up to 21:22 and to lift tension again.

While in the previous 91 matches of the WCh tournament you observed fast-paced play now and then depending on the game situation, both finalists showed consequent fast-paced play of highest quality in particular in the first half. Special deserve of mention: All players took a high risk providing some brilliant actions for the crowd. This is what you may learn from the picture row taken in the early stage of this appealing WCh final.
