Overview:

 

Team Slovenia has been a competitor twice in the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship, placing in the top 10 in both competitions. In the 2011 edition held in Argentina, they finished ninth and in 2013 they beat their previous rank, coming in 8th place at the championship held in Hungary. 

 

The team aims to advance even further in the 2015 competition held in Ekaterinburg, Russia, with their first goal for the 2015 Men’s Youth World Championship to reach one of the first four places in the group.

 

“After that, we will think only about the next upcoming match and try to do our best,” Slovenia Team Leader Borut Korosec said.

 

Slovenia are coached by Janez Klemencic, 46, who has been a youth handball coach for 31 seasons. Klemencic has experience working with the U19 Slovenian National Team as coach’s assistant since 2006. He became the head coach of the youth Slovenia team in 2012 and lives in Skofja, Slovenia.
