Just one
day before the end of the IV Men’s Youth World Championship and the start of
the finals, the Organizing Committee of the Argentinean handball confederation
together with the International Handball Federation invited to a final Press
Conference in Mar del Plata.
Leon Kalin,
Chairman of the IHF Competition Management and President of the Committee of
Organizing and Competitions (COC) took in his opening words the opportunity to
express his gratitude and to refer to the high level of the organisation. Also
Miguel Roca Mas, 1st IHF Vice President, and IHF’s Treasurer Sandi Sola
affirmed the very high level and pointed especially the great number of
spectators during the entire tournament out.
Mario
Moccia, President of the handball confederation of Argentina was proud to welcome the handball world in
Argentina. “We worked hard in the preparation phase, and have by now received
positive feedback from the teams, which makes us pleased. We are also glad that
more than 35,000 spectators have visited our matches so far. This is a success
and will further boost handball in the region.”
Also the
coaches of the four semi finalists were part of the press conference. Claus
Hansen, coach of Denmark, believed, that the Championship will bring new inputs
to the host. Both finalists, Spain and Denmark will activate their last
resource when they will converge on Saturday 20 August 2011 at 17:00 (local
time).
