Semi final II: Denmark – Brazil 30:25 (18:12)

 

The girl’s handball final of the first ever YOG will be a European one: After Russia succeeded against Kazakhstan clearly, Denmark followed them by winning the second semi final in Singapore against Brazil 30:25 (18:12). The final will be played on Wednesday 6 p.m. local time. Before, Brazil will try everything to win the Bronze Final against Kazakhstan. The final result of the second semi looks closer as the actually was. Denmark was dominant during the entire 60 minutes – and thanks to a great start the lead was quite comfortable very early. The goals of Signe Pedersen (top scorer with in total nine goals) and Julie Parkhoei were responsible for the 8:3 intermediate result that paved the way to the even clearer 18:12 at the break. Later on Rikke Ebbesen and Rikke Iversen took the lead in the Danish team, both scored each seven goals. Latest the game was decided in minute 49, when Denmark was in lead 29:21. Only then Brazil caught up a little, but the four consecutive goals to the 25:29 were too late to turn the match. Brazil’s top scorer was Larissa Araujo with five goals. Now the only two spotless teams of the women’s tournament have reached the final.
