After all participants of the Men’s Olympic Handball Tournament in London had been determined after the three Olympic Qualification Tournaments on the Easter weekend, now twelve women’s teams fight for the last six remaining places for the 2012 Olympic Games in London (28 July – 12 August) in the cities of Lyon (France), Guadalajara (Spain) and Aalborg (Denmark).Six participants (Great Britain, Norway, Brazil, Angola, Korea and Sweden) are already known after the 2011 World Championship in Brazil and the continental qualification tournaments. The six missing teams will be decided in three Olympic Qualification Tournaments, played from 25 to 27 May.The two best ranked teams from each of those tournaments will book their tickets to the 2012 Olympic Games. The draw for the Preliminary Rounds will take place in London at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Wednesday, 30 May.
