From 13 to 17 December 2012, Kathmandu in Nepal will be hosting the IHF Trophy Zone II Tournament Asia with countries from South Central Asia participating. For the first time in history the Nepal Handball Association will organise an international handball event. Besides the host, five other countries will compete in the junior tournaments for both men and women: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Yemen. The tournament will be played on a round robin basis in two groups of three, out of which the best teams will advance to the semi-finals and the fight for the medals. The winners of the men’s and women’s competition will be entitled to represent the zone at the continental phase of the Asian IHF Trophy to be held next year. Many important guests, including the prime minister of Nepal, have announced their presence during the competition.

As is commonplace at IHF Trophies, the IHF will be staging courses for both coaches and referees during the tournament in Nepal in order to make handball grow in that part of Asia. Mr Radhi Jassim from Bahrain, will be conducting the referees course, while Mr Taha Al Shebab Nabeel, also from Bahrain, will be in charge of the coaching course.

The complete schedule of the tournament as well the composition of groups can be found on the link below.
