From 28 May to 1 June Accra in Ghana will host eight nations as part of the IHF Trophy Tournament for Zone III Africa. Eight teams in the men’s competition and seven in the women’s will compete over five days to determine who will represent this zone on the Continental Phase for Africa next year. Divided into two groups of four in the men’s competition and one group of four and one of three in the women’s competition, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Benin, Burundi, Nigeria, Niger, Liberia and Togo will battle to win this prestigious tournament and secure a place on the Continental Phase.

The tournament will be played with a round robin preliminary round, semi-finals and finals. The matches for the medals are scheduled for 5 June.

As in previous cases, parallel to the tournament the IHF will organize simultaneous courses for coaches and referees. The coaches course will be conducted by Mr Mohamed Benkreira (CAN), while Mr Alain Dessertenne (FRA) will carry out the referees course on behalf of the IHF. The CAHB will be represented by its Secretary General and IHF Council Member Mrs Nicole Assele (GAB).
