Today in Jaipur, at the I IHF Inter Continental Challenge Trophy, Venezuela proved not to be such a nice guest for India on the second day of the competition in SMS Indoor Stadium. But it wasn’t that easy for the Venezuelan team to win a match against a highly motivated Indian side. The first half was a very tight affair, and none of the teams could take a serious advantage at any point of the game. The one goal advantage of the Venezuelan side was a result of a last second 7m throw the visiting team successfully converted. The half time result was 12:11 for Venezuela.

In the second half, the mobility of the Venezuelan defence once again came into play, and their fast breaks completely opened the Indian defence. By the 45th minute it was already clear that the South Americans will bring another two points to their Challenge Trophy account. The end result: India vs. Venezuela 25:32 (11:12). The best scorer of the host team was once again Sing Neeraj with 7 goals, while Hernan Escobar scored 5 times for Venezuela. David Contreras from Venezuela was declared man of the match.

The second match of the evening between Finland and Benin has been postponed and will be played on 02/07/2011.
