Host nation Colombia made it two wins from two as the second round of matches took place yesterday at the IHF South and Central American Emerging Nations Men’s Championship in Palmira.

After their 36:13 win against Honduras on the opening day in group B, the Colombians beat El Salvador 42:13, with Juan Andres Ramirez Alvarez scoring 11 times. Also in group B, Ecuador won again too, dispatching Honduras 44:25 after they amazingly restricted their hosts to just four second half strikes after 21 in the first.

Group A, which features just three teams, saw Paraguay open their campaign with a 50:18 win over Panama, who are now out of contention, while in Group C it is all open with everyone beating everyone – Guatemala lost to French Guiana 28:21, while Peru beat Bolivia 31:21.

Today, matchday three, sees five games take place – the final matches of the preliminary round – with all 30 of the games from South America streamed live via the Colombian Handball Federation YouTube site HERE.

Teams in Colombia include Paraguay (PAR), Costa Rica (CRC), Panama (PAN), Colombia (COL), Ecuador (ECU), El Salvador (ESA), Honduras (HON), Guatemala (GUA), Peru (PER), French Guiana (GUF) and Bolivia (BOL).
