Dr. Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hassani, Information Minister of Oman, underscored the significance of the Sultanates hosting the Beach Handball World Championships. He said the event is of a great importance to the country in general. It helps to represent Oman in a better way in the future, since the country is planning to host more Championships. The minister made the statement during a press conference upon his visit to the World Championships on Tuesday 10 July. The press conference was attended by Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, Under-Secretary of the Sports Affairs Ministry and Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of the IHF.
