The second day of the third Men's and Women's Beach Handball World Championships again had some surprises in stock. It was also observed that the top-teams are closer together now and the overall performance level is getting more and more equal. Only Croatia could gain a little more free space ahead of the other teams, with both, their men's and their women's team.

Apart from this, the field of participants is very close in each of the groups. The surprise of the day was Pakistan, who beat former world champion Egypt with a very last shot at the moment of the final whistle. At the last match of the day, host Spain gained its first victory in the men's tournament against Turkey and thereby kept their chance of making it to the semi-finals.

The final decisions of who will go to the semi-finals will be made on day three of the tournament, the final day of the preliminary round.
