On Thursday (19 June) the draw for the preliminary round of the IHF Super Globe was conducted in the hosting city of Doha. On the fringes of an IHF inspection for the 2015 Men’s World Championship, COC Chairman Leon Kalin drew the lots.

The draw results:
Group A: SG Flensburg-Handewitt (Germany, winner of the EHF Champions League), El-Jaish (Qatar, winner of the Asian Club League), HC Taubate (Brazil, Pan-American club champion), wild card participant (Qatar)
Group B: FC Barcelona (defending champion), Esperance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia, African club champion), Al-Sadd (Qatar, host), Representative Oceania

The Oceania representative will be decided on 20 June in the qualification event in New Caledonia, while the Qatari wild card participant will be decided upon completion of the Emir’s Cup in Doha. 
The IHF Super Globe will be played from 7 to 12 September in the newly built Qatar Handball Association Complex, one of the four venues of the 2015 World Championship, as first test event for the pinnacle event in 2015.

Rest day – 10 September

Semi-finals/start of placement round:
11 September
