Day two of Women’s Olympic Games Qualification II in Aarhus will see another exciting day of matches with Romania meeting Uruguay fresh off their seven-goal win against Denmark on Friday.

In the second match of the evening home team Denmark face a must-win situation against Montenegro in order to keep their Olympic dream alive.

The South American team have yet another difficult match in front of them as they face Romania in the second round. The 22nd IHF Women’s Handball World Championship bronze medallists showed their strength in Friday’s match against Denmark, during which they never allowed the Scandinavian side to hope for a win.

Competing in their first Olympic Qualification Tournament, Uruguay showed in their opening match against Montenegro that they are capable of starting with great fight, but tire in the second half when they have trouble keeping pace with their physically stronger opponents.

Romania are the undeniable favourites to win this match, which will put them in a strong position to book their spot at Rio 2016.

Denmark vs Montenegro 20:00 local time

The match between Denmark and Montenegro will likely be a nerve-wracking experience for the fans on both sides. Denmark must win the match in order to keep any chance of qualifying for Rio alive, while Montenegro can secure their place at the Olympic Games if they claim the two points.

Montenegro and Denmark met twice during the 2015 World Championship in December. In the group phase match Montenegro won 23:21, but when they met later in the Placement Round 5-8 it was Denmark that emerged victorious with a final score of 28:20.

The match can therefore be considered as a 50:50 chance for both teams, and spectators can look forward to a very exciting battle on court in Aarhus on Saturday evening.
