15 men’s teams and eight women’s sides travelled to Oujda, Morocco for the 35th CAHB Men’s and Women’s African Club Cup Winners Championship and after 52 games, the winners are now known of the championship which brings together the winners of the various cups in each African country.

In the men’s final, Tunisia’s Etoile Sportive Sahel HC overcame the Egyptian powerhouse – and title-holders – of Al Ahly 28:24, their first title since beating the same side back in 2012. The Tunisian team had taken a commanding seven-goal half-time lead (18:11) to set them up for the second half. The two teams had met in the preliminary round, but could not be separated, drawing 29:29.

Over in the women’s final, Angola’s Primeiro continued their regional dominance as the Morten Soubak-led team easily defeated country rivals Petro 28:16 to end the tournament with six wins out of six and add to their Super Cup title won in the final played before the championship started. Petro had beaten Primeiro in the 2018 final, 23:19.
