This past weekend France, Netherlands, Romania, Montenegro, Russia and Sweden were the final teams to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Women’s Handball Tournament.

They complete the line-up of 12 teams fighting it out for glory in Brazil in the handball tournament to be held at the Future Arena from 5-21 August 2016.

The teams qualified to Rio 2016 include eight from Europe, two from South America and one each from Africa and Asia, they are:

Norway (IHF Women’s World Champions)
Netherlands (First at OQTI)
Romania (First at OQTII)
Russia (First at OQTIII)
Sweden (Second at OQTIII)
Montenegro (Second at OQTII)
France (Second at OQTI)
Spain (Best Continent at Denmark 2015)
Korea (Third Best Continent at Denmark 2015)
Brazil (Hosts/Organiser)
Argentina (Second Best Continent at Denmark 2015)
Angola (Fourth Best Continent at Denmark 2015)
